A pillow that becomes a blanket

The colourway development sheet.

PilloPlush® is a decorative cushion that unfolds into a full throw blanket — patented, and deceptively hard to make. The pillow has to look like a pillow on a sofa, and the blanket has to feel like a blanket, from one piece of material with no visible compromise in either state.

Prototyping took three months on its own. The engineering problem was the transition: where the blanket stows, how the closure hides, and how the filling behaves once the blanket is out. Get it wrong and you have a lumpy cushion and a thin blanket. We moved through prototype rounds until both states held up, then took it through turnkey manufacturing and final inspection.

The range ships in multiple colours and prints.

Why this one matters

Plush and home textiles reward patience in prototyping. This is what the extra rounds buy.
